Yet for millions of people, there’s one tiny detail that ruins everything: the toe seam. It rubs. It irritates. It creates pressure points. And for some of us, it’s been a daily annoyance for years.
Some people do a “secret hack”: they wear their socks inside out—just to keep the seam off the skin. It works… but it was never meant to be that way. Until now.
MEET THE FOUNDER — LIONEL HAGEGE
Hi, I’m Lionel Hagege, the founder of Wrong Side Socks.
This project started a long time ago. Since I was a kid, I’ve always worn my socks inside out. Between the ages of 8 and 12, I even used to cut the seams with scissors so they wouldn’t irritate my toes. Sometimes that meant walking around with my little toe sticking out — but at least I was comfortable.
For decades, I kept wearing every pair of socks — sports, casual, even formal dress socks — inside out. It became my personal habit, my way to avoid irritation.
Last summer, I was wearing low-cut socks (inside out, as always) with cropped pants. A friend noticed the reversed logo and made fun of me. I explained why I wore them this way… and his wife immediately said:
“He’s not the only one. One of our friends does the same.”
That was a revelation. I started digging online — Reddit, forums, communities — and I realized this wasn’t just my problem. It was a global frustration. People everywhere hate sock seams.
So I decided to change the game.
THE IDEA: MAKE “WRONG” THE NEW RIGHT
Instead of hiding my habit, I designed a sock made to be worn this way from the start. A sock with the seam on the outside. Where it can’t rub your toes. Where comfort finally comes first.
And yes — the logo is upside down on purpose. Not a flaw. A signature. That’s how Wrong Side Socks was born.
